A planet with potential for habitability has been discovered approximately 35 light years from Earth by a research team at the Trottier Institute for Research on Exoplanets at the University of Montreal. The discovery was made using data from NASA’s  Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, also known as TESS, which allowed scientists to identify a fifth planet in the L 98-59 star system. Named L 98-59 f, the newly detected planet is part of a compact and diverse system orbiting a red dwarf star.
